I pretty much love your entire review!! I thought it was so well done (and I also really liked Effie by the end, where as I couldn't stand her in the first movie [I haven't read the books yet]). But seriously. What a good movie.

Thank you so much! And yeah, it was amazingly done and an awesome movie. And the Character Development for Effie was amazing. They really gave a new dimension to her character, which I think was one of many reasons that I really loved her in the film.

And I definitely recommend the books. They are amazing.

I'm almost finished reading Catching Fire again.
Went and saw it in Gold Class (swanky!). It was brilliant.
I knew that Suzanne was still involved and I think that's what really made the movie.

yeah a couple of things changed and they left a lot out (like the avox's, and the escapees but they might be in mocking jay 1). But, on the whole it was amazing.

Mags. Oh my dear Mags. how my heart broke. And, when Joanna yelled out there's no one left that I love... it was just... heartbreaking.

Went to see it again at the drivein with a friend and it was terrible. The dark scenes were too dark. Her radio didn't work properly so we had to move way back to where they still had speakers. But, I saw a lot of the stuff I'd missed.

I think that's definitely the case. With Suzanne Collins just sort of making sure that everything works, I think the movies will definitely work.

And God yes, Mags and Johanna. Mags was just so very sweet and badass and I loved her interactions with Katniss. And Johanna's line...yeah, that was heartbreaking.

You could sort of tell where JK was no longer in Harry Potter. The little important things got tossed away.

But, with the Hunger Games - the crucial stuff is still in there. The things that made the books so good to read.

Mags.. just breaks my heart every time I think about it.

I agree, it's a great movie. Jennifer Lawrence and Donald Sutherland really are incredible in their roles. So's the guy playing Haymitch (a personal favourite of mine). And it's all shock full of Cool, and Sad, and Sweet, and Funny, and the whole emotional register. :D

I personally loved the scene with Johanna stripping in the elevator, just for the reactions of the other three. Katniss looks absolutely horrified, Peeta is smiling desperately and looks like he's about to die from embarrassment, but Haymitch is just enjoying the show. :D Loved Johanna in general, actually - her actress also did a great job, showing her as tough and morally ambiguous and just a little bit Not Right In The Head.

Oh, and Beetee. I loved Beetee. Beware the wrath of a shameless tech-geek! ;)

Oh yes. They were definitely amazing in their roles. It's a perfectly cast series of films all around, but those actors especially stand out.

And God yes, that scene. That scene just made me crack up in the theater. XD And yes, Jena Malone did fantastic as Johanna. Johanna's always been one of my favorites and she really did her justice. And I loved Bee-Tee too. He was awesome. :3
