So, got back from watching the DOCTOR WHO episode "Doomsday".

Or rewatching it, at least. Anyway, amazing episode, just as good as I remember it, but sweet Jesus was it heartbreaking. (Yeah, I know, "Doomsday" is heartbreaking. Film at eleven. :P)

Adventures in time and -- spoilers! )

tearjerker, crowning moment of heartwarming, high octane nightmare fuel, plot, doctor who, crowning moment of funny, characterization, reviews, emotions, crowning moment of awesome

Apparently in the wall scene, the director wanted the Doctor to break down crying, but David suggested he just stand there.

That ended up being so much more powerful.

Then turning around and walking away with his hands in his pockets. Trying to act normal as though losing another companion hasn't affected him.

I didn't really know that! And yeah, it really is more powerful that way.

I finally saw those two episodes in their entirety just a couple years ago, and oh man the FEELS...

If you ever watch Torchwood (and you might already be spoiled for this storyline), the "Cyberwoman" episode is a chilling and heartbreaking coda to this story arc. One of the standouts of the entire series in my opinion.

*Hugs* I can imagine.

And I should really get around to watching "Cyberwoman". Seriously.

This is the episode that broke me, and made me go back and watch all of S1 and S2 that I'd missed. (I'd only seen random episodes here and there.)
