So, finally watched STAR TREK II: THE WRATH OF KHAN...

...and I really, really loved it! :D Really emotionally draining, of course, but really good nonetheless.

My thoughts under cut. )

It is definitely one of the top 3 of the Trek movies IMO! The other two being 'Undiscovered Country' and 'First Contact' in no particular order. :)

When it came out with Meyer at the helm, I was so happy! The small things were perfectly done, the humor was there regardless of the actors' aging and when the aging itself was part of the plot, that was masterful. Great movie, on its own and as part of the franchise.

Wise got the grandeur part right with #1, but the rest of the movie and especially the plot was painful. I'd expected to want to see it again the next day like I did ANH, but the urge died aborning. The best part about that one was the seatbelt moment.

Very well-said! :D Just...so well-done, I swear. Even if the eels are still enough to give me nightmares...seriously, poor Chekov. :( *Hugs him, and then slaps Khan for messing with Chekov* Then again, there's something about Chekov that's seriously Woobieish, no matter who's playing him.

I haven't seen THE MOTION PICTURE (mostly the Nostalgia Critic's review of it) but yeah...I can imagine.

My favorite Trek movie, hands down! My other favorites are First Contact, The Voyage Home, the 2009 reboot, and the first one. Khan is a true classic, though! :D

I'm with you on Chekov. I was like, "Why does Khan remember him, he wasn't even in the first season!" *facepalm*

It definitely is a classic. :) I'll admit I'm in the midst of seeing THE VOYAGE HOME, and I'm really enjoying it thus far! :D (I think I'm at the part where they've arrived in San Francisco) And the reboot is pretty awesome as well -- I think it might have actually gotten me into STAR TREK in the first place.

And yeah...that really is baffling, it really is.

Only Trek that ever gave me nightmares. I had seen it and about a year later I had ear surgery...

Apparently I woke my father (staying with me at the hospital) and the kids in the hospital rooms on either side of me when I sat bolt upright screaming because there was blood trickling down my face. It took my father, two nurses and my stuffed owl to calm me down. I was 15.
