I think she was commenting on your doctor being pessimistic that the 2nd blood test would show anything and then being proved that yes, it can possibley hide.

Or rather the rheumatologist.

And I'm not sure being diagnosed with Lymes is good or bad in this case (I mean I guess it's something you can treat for but I also think from what very little I know it's not somethign that is curable after a certain point but more controllable to an extent. But I know very little about lymes except it is common in the Northeast and I'm very happy it's not something you hear about here in the Northwest).

Yeah, I don't know. Apparently if you've had Lyme for years, it's done some permanent damage. But at least by treating it you can stop things getting worse and maybe make some symptoms better.

I don't know. I'm still going "bwuh?"

I've got "bwuh" with a side of "is it okay to say yay? I'm scared to say yay. Something? Anything? ANYTHING? Maybe??" I don't know. Does this make sense? ANYTHING THAT MAKES YOU BETTER IS FINE BY ME. Including larceny and crimes against humanity. Anything that works, I'm 100% behind. Because this has been too much, for too long, and it is not right.

I know approximately 40 people with Lyme, including my grandmother (just got it this year) and husband's brother (who has has it for something like 15 years), and work teammate (who has had it for 10 years). I also know/knew lots of dogs with it (thankfully despite all of our hiking in the DC area, I managed to keep my dogs from contracting it).

My BiL was sick for years and years and worked so hard with lots of doctors (internists, rheumatologists, neurologists, etc) on trying to figure out what the hell the problem was (lead poisoning? some other autoimmune issue?) since tests for Lyme came back fine initially. Years later they figured out that it is Lyme. Sound familiar?

I'm cautiously optimistic for you! I think figuring out what it is and then having paths for treatment and stuff is a good start, though Lyme really seems to affect everyone slightly differently. It would be awesome for you to finally get better!

Thank you for the cautious optimism, by the way. Much appreciated.

It's been a black hole of a weekend and I'm trying to regain some grasp on my already-scanty social skills.
