I haven't seen the new Who (I'm still back with Tennant, trying to catch up) but I know enough to know that I absolutely LOVE THIS! These flow together so elegantly, and there are phrases in here that made me want to weep for not having more fiction like this!

Example "The first time was almost overpowering; burnt circuit boards, fried electronics, and perhaps a cup of coffee that had been left a bit too long. The second time it was fresh and new the smell of clean copper, like a wet penny or spilled blood. This time it smelled of chalk." I could actually smell this part because of the description. Just lovely!!!

Well done! And I also love the hope at the end. This starts with a concern that he and Amita are slipping from each other, and end with the thought of a second honeymoon... and the 37th century? That's one helluva honeymoon.
