Year in review January 23 2011- January 22 2012

So this has been an interesting year in some ways. I had some health problems, mental and physical, in the middle of the year. I was also on the road for several weeks. I didn’t write a fandom novella this year for the first time since I started on lj. I did however write an original novella which is getting published around June. So it’s not that ( Read more... )

:) It's not official until until the book is in hand and the money is in the bank.

Congratulations! and while it may not be official till the money's in the bank and you're holding the first copy, that's just a minor detail. Your writing in fanfiction is such a joy to read, I'm looking forward to seeing what your original work is like.

And, if you have time, I'm also looking forward to more fanfiction for Numb3rs, NCIS and CSI/ CSI:NY - I don't (usually) watch any of the other programmes, so I don't usually read the fanfic (well, except for an occasional foray into Torchwood and Star Trek: Voyager (and a follow-up or prequel for the ST:V drabble would be much enjoyed) when I've read everything new and good in my usual fandoms).

The funny thing is I'm not really a fan of NCIS but I watch a fair amount of it anyway (long story). It is however really big over at bdsm_fandom and when they had their 3 sentence prompt challenge I had an OCD moment and tried to fill as many as possible including a couple of dozen NCIS ones. I am now trying to slowly turn the 148 fills I did into 148 drabbles. So many more will show up at some point in the future.

Congratulations, that's fabulous news to hear. Good for you:)

As for fanfic, I always enjoy your stories. Last year you tempted me to try reading a new pairing and kept me hooked with Who We Are. It was a truly moving, perceptive piece of writing and was my standout fic of the year in any fandom.

Healthwise, I hope you have passed the worst and are on the mend.

The worst of the health stuff as passed for now. I am really glad you read Who We and liked it. I was doing my best to talk people around to Charlie/David with it.

I add my congratulations to you for getting published. I'm also thrilled that you are still going to write fanfiction. "Silk Pillow" has got to be my favorite Charlie/Ian Dom/sub story in the world. I re-visit it every few months and I doubt I will ever cease to be amazed at your awesomeness.

:-) I often look back on Silk Pillow and ask myself how in the hell I wrote it. It's like standing on top of a mountain, looking down and wondering how in the hell I climbed THAT!
