For Neal it was like dancing with the smoke and catching the soul of the artist.

Wonderful.

These are all lovely but I particularly liked his relationship with Degas and van Gogh. (I also really appreciate the links to the actual artwork since art history isn't really my thing.)

I don't know a bloody thing about art history myself. Here's to wikipedia. I figured I had to put in the pictures or a lot of it wouldn't make sense.

Very nice. The part about Degas was especially deep and meaningful in its concision. Lovely piece of writing.

I love Neal's nightmares about the Degas. And his prior works with the little ballerinas would explain how he could forge an almost perfect copy of a painting he had seen for so little time.

The first time I went to the Met and walked into an entire room of Degas' ballerinas it was a little creepy to me. All these little blurry girls. I truthfully am not a huge fan of impressionism because that's pretty much what the world looks like before I put on my glasses in the morning and it confuses my brain.
