OhOh, wow. I am so enjoying this. THANK U for writing it!~ I must admit to not being a fan of a lot of pairings u have, but this one and WHITMAN are my true FAVES!

Great read, and Esther is such a well thought out character--not mary sue at all. Love her interaction with the Granger clan. I noticed theres not a lot of charlie here...was that on purpose/? also,,, do he and colby ever "Do it?" lOL. :-)

Glad you're reading and like this. Charlie will be more active later but I really wanted the story to be about Colby coming home and facing his family. As for Charlie and Colby doing it. Well.... You'll just have to keep reading.

“Thank you for the very kind offer,” Esther said quickly. “But getting dunked in potentially religious water was on the list of things I promised my rabbi I’d try to avoid while venturing into the wilderness. That and pickled pigs feet. Those actually exist, right? Nice coffee by the way. Not over done.”

That part killed me! As much as the pastor!

Bravo, bravo, bravo. I like Colby's family and the insights into his character and upbringing.

Thank you. I didn't want to make his family just cardboard cut out hicks and tried to give them all slightly different ways of looking at the world.

"affronted"... yeah.

and what an UNFORTUNATE church service! poor esther, poor andrew... poor colby!

but this made the ::snort:: actually travel up the backside of my nose and squeek out my eyeballs: “They tried to baptize me.”

...
..
.

and the rest was just so painfully beautiful. oh, my heart is breaking for colby!

exquisite, my dear...

Colby and Esther's fight was originally supposed to happen at church but I found I had to get them out of there more quickly than I originally anticipated.
