Ah, the surreal life... I was waiting for this one: when Ian's work life and school life truly meet head to head the first time.

The teachers never give him shit for being late again. And are very tactful about their critiques.

LOL! At first glance I read that as "tactical". /grins/

And yeah, I'd think anyone who knew what Ian did for a living would tread lightly around him.

Hell, anyone who MET Ian face to face would do so!

It's a bit of a balance because he wants strong critique. All his schooling has been via nuns, military or law enforcement. He's used to people telling him he sucks, doing a hundred push ups then trying again. This whole modern caring sensitive education weirds him out a bit.
