Music

Having too much free time, I created a compilation of "Kimimaro" music. Mostly it is a sampling of the bands he listens to (from my own collections, of course). Some of the songs also relate to the character. I'll leave that mostly up to guesswork unless someone wants me to point them all out.

1. Terminal Choice - The Savior : Info : Download
An electro-industrial choice to start off. It has a hint of Aggro. It is quoted as “doomy electronic industrial with hard EBM rhythms.” I love Terminal Choice and it’s even better because the english is so bad in their english songs. The band is German and quite popular in the subculture across the world. He tries and tries to stop all the wars. He has no chance because war is what we need.

2. London After Midnight - Hate! : Info : Download
A gothic rock band hailing from California. The song starts off slow and emotional then alternates with faster beats closer to punk. The children hide behind, behind their little masks. They are, at their games, the only ones who laugh.

3. Breaking Point - Phoenix : Info : Download
Breaking Point is an alternative rock band that I like. Phoenix is my favorite song by them. The song has a feel of freedom to it and guitar work reminiscant of the 90s. I close my eyes, and try to remember when, “Cause pictures in my head, they’re all I have of them.

4. Thousand Foot Krutch - Phenomenon : Info : Download
A Canadian band that is actually Christian Rock, but cool nonetheless. They have an edgy rock sound to them. This song is catchy and will get caught in your head and make you sing along. If it doesn’t, I can show you an awesome Naruto AMV with the song in it. ;D Roll! Open your soul, maybe lose control inside of this phenomenon, just let your self go, and let everyone know you move to this phenomenon.

5. :Wumpscüt: - Angel : Info : Download
While :Wumpscüt: is an electro-industrial band, also from Germany, this song is a slower more gothic song. It is in english and has a dark flowing feel to it. Cause angels must be free, high up from this world in eternity.

6. Lowsunday - For a Moment : Info : Download
The band was originally named Low Sunday Ghost Machine, to be shortened upon signing to a record label. They hail from Pittsburgh, PA. Shoegazer, gloom pop, and definitely indie. This song has hints of the influence of The Cure. I chose this song from their self released album which was rereleased with better sound under the name Lowsunday. I wanted just to stare into the sky, your eyes. I wanted just some peace in my own mind.

7. The Crüxshadows - Never Surrender/Citadel (Clan of Xymox Remix) : Info : Download
The band brings gothic and darkwave sounds from Florida. This song is very dancy with a synthpop feel. It’s fun to dance to and I love listening to this album while driving. A vanguard to approaching war is borne upon the sea. The icy breath of cyclones bent on waging our destruction.

8. Bella Morte - Whispers : Info : Download
A Virginia based Gothic Rock band that incorporates many different elements of the subculture. I chose this song because it is dancy and I like the lyrics. It’s a gloomy love song with an upbeat sound to it. How can you go wrong? And whispers after midnight echo till the dawn. So close my dear until the night is gone.

9. Mindless Faith - Prodigy : Info : Download
Originally from around State College, PA, Mindless Faith is an upcoming industrial band. I chose this song because it is older. I’m not even sure you can get this album anymore. It has a fun beat to it and displays Mindless Faith’s varying music styling. Time for the self, time for the strength. All sense aside, what is belief?

10. Switchblade Symphony - Dissolve : Info : Download
Dark poetic lyrics accompined with moody, dreamy, experimental sounding music make this song a favorite of mine by this band from San Francisco, CA. Tina Root has amazing vocals that are haunting and enchanting in this song. I highly recommend this song. In the moonshine I leave no trace. My visions have gone far away.

11. Assemblage 23 - Disappoint (Funker Vogt Remix) : Info : Download
Hailing from Seattle, WA, Assemblage 23 mixes synthpop and EBM. This song is very fun to listen to and has more of an EBM feel than synthpop. The song is about the sense of loss written after the singer’s father committed suicide. Did I stand on the shore and watch you as you drowned? Can you forgive me? I never knew the pain you carried deep inside of you.

12. Zeromancer - Need You Like a Drug : Info : Download
Zeromancer is a primarily Norweigen industrial band with a touch of synthpop. This song displays a lot of the synthpop side of the band yet still has the heavy guitaring of industrial. You take the world out of my eyes. You suck the words outta my mouth. When we kiss.

13. Velvet Acid Christ - Pretty Toy : Info : Download
VAC is one of my favorite bands. They come from Colorado. This is one of two songs of theirs that I am listing. While VAC is an electro-industrial band, the music is almost trace-like and psychadelic. This song has simple lyrics mixed in with samples from the movie Fight Club. A gun on the floor. A hole in your head. Just like a whore, you wish you were dead.

14. Concrete Blonde - Bloodletting : Info : Download
The band is alternative rock from the 80s and 90s, but has a large gothic following. This song only encouraged welcoming into the subculture and is still often played at clubs. It is reminiscant of the 60s in sound. I got the ways and means to New Orleans. I'm going down by the river where it's warm and green.

15. Project Pitchfork - Steel Rose (Apoptygma Berzerk Remix) : Info : Download
This song has a fast beat common in darkwave music. The band is from Germany, like many of the bands of which I listen. There is a pause in the song with a symphonic feel that mixes in with the beat. Steelrose, without sense, glowing in red, scorching my hands.

16. Beborn Beton - Another World : Info : Download
A german synthpop band that has a large following in the scene. This is perhaps the most recongized song of theirs and a song I enjoy a lot. As with most synthpop it has a danceable beat. There is no sense in crying ,only liquid running from my eyes. And all the feelings I restrain are the remainders that survived.

17. Crossfade - Colors : Info : Download
A post-grunge rock band from South Carolina. Perhaps more known for the song “Cold”. I chose this song since it is my favorite by them and less likely to have been heard than Cold. I know you feel alone, yeah, and no one else can figure you out. But don't you ever turn away from the ones that help you down.

18. Grendel - Soilbleed v.3 : Info : Download
Grendel is a Dutch EBM band that has a good standing in clubs. I had trouble deciding between this song and Zombie Nation. Soilbleed is a song about being nothing but a puppet for death in the military. Samples include cuts from Full Metal Jacket. Reaching forward, through the dark. Dead, marching forward, much colder than the cud. Reaching forward, through the dark. Spreading the soilbleed, no return when you're marked.

19. Velvet Acid Christ - Slut : Info : Download
Because I had to. I love this song, but it is not typical VAC work. Infact it has enchanting female vocals. The song touches a bit of darkwave and goth. Well it may sound a little frightening. I want to swallow all of your skin, chew your soft tissue into ash, beat your ego black and blue.

20. Goethes Erben & Wolfsheim - Glasgarten : Info : Download
Goethes Erben is not of any real genre. The German group mixes spoken German with musical theater. In this song they work with the German synthpop band Wolfsheim. I like their music and especially the flow of this song. Im Glasgarten verirrt sich die Zeit und bleibt als Moment erhalten. In the Glass garden time stops and remains as a moment.

21. Marilyn Manson - Like a Virgin : Info : Download
An alternative metal band that I believe everyone has heard of. This song is Manson’s cover of Madonna’s “Like a Virgin” and just that fact alone makes me squeal. I don’t think much more needs to be said about this song. Like a virgin, touched for the very first time.

22. Apoptygma Berzerk - Bitch : Info : Download
The Norweigen band, Apop’s sound has varied across all of their albums from electro-industrial and EBM roots to more of a synthpop and dance feel. The song Bitch is actually a pretty old Apop song with an electro feel. I chose this song since it is harder to find than their newer work. Everytime you hurt me, I lie helpless for a day. I try to stand up but you're in my way.

23. Stromkern - Im Traum (Wolfsheim Mix) : Info : Download
While Stromkern sounds German, the band originated in Wisconsin. It mixes electro-industrial and hip-hop in a unique blend with 19th century classical composition. In deinem Garten still und starr, ein Engel ist geworden. In your garden quiet and still an angel is born.

24. Lacuna Coil - Heaven’s a Lie : Info : Download
Based in Italy, Lacuna Coil is a gothic band with tendrils in gothic rock. This would be my favorite song of theirs and is a bit more like mainstream rock than gothic, yet has gothic undertones. The song is very symphonic. It is a favorite while roleplaying and the lyrics make good icons. Oh no, here it is again. I need to know why did I choose to betray you?

25. Funker Vogt - Shaven : Info : Download
Funker Vogt is an anti-war EBM band from Germany. Their music is often militaristic in nature and covers topics from war to social injustice. So I chose a song not about war, but about whores! It’s a Kimimaro song. Always dressed in black leather. I want to lick your naked skin.

26. Wolfsheim - Once in a Lifetime : Info : Download
Formed in Germany, Wolfsheim is a synthpop band with moments of darkwave. This song is a beautiful piece about the loss of the singer’s wife and unborn child. The music is so pretty most often don’t realize the story of the song. I had a life to give, many dreams to live. Don't you know that you're losing so much this time? Beyond the waves, I will be free, while all the others are praying.

27. :Wumpscüt: - Black Death : Info : Download
Another song by :Wumpscüt: at the other end of the band’s musical style. More industrial in sound with an old school aggro chorus. Black death come to love me. Black death caress me. Black death lick my pale skin. Black death I'm not scared.

28. Stromkern - Stand Up : Info : Download
This is one of Stromkern’s songs in English. It has a nice stomp beat to it and is a fun song basically about standing up for your beliefs. Now the people in the crowd let me see those hands up. Stand up and demand some answers. What! Come on can you hear me in the back. If you can’t let ‘em know and we’ll turn up the track.

29. Muse - Our Time is Running Out : Info : Download
An English alternative rock band, Muse plays tag with the Emo scene as well as the Gothic. This song I can’t help but relate to Kimimaro due to the Obsession AMV. You're something beautiful, a contradiction. I wanna play the game, I want the friction.

30. Covenant - Dead Stars : Info : Download
Covenant is a band from Sweden that has been around since the beginning of EBM and synthpop. This song is very fun to dance to and has a good rhythm that just stays with you. We find ourselves in pictures on the net. Blinded by science, addicted to devotion.

31. Snoop Dogg - Gin and Juice : Info : Download
Does Snoop even need an introduction? This is another song I listen to while playing Kimimaro. It’s a fun song even if you don’t like rap. So what you wanna do, sheeeit. I got a pocket full of rubbers and my homeboys do too. So turn off the lights and close the doors.

32. Gisli - Go Get ‘Em Tiger : Info : Download
The bonus track. I know very little about this band. I got the song Tuesday. The song is interesting and has a bit of a hip-hop feel to it. The lyrics are just, weird. I am weird. Kimimaro is weird. It works. I slip into my suit and my cowboy hat and boots. Play hard core heavy metal and think about you.
