“I'm tired, Damon,” she says quietly, looking him straight in the eye (these days, she always looks him straight in the eye). “I'm tired, and I don't... I need to finally have something for myself.”
There's nothing he can say to that, so he doesn't. He just nods, and Elena wraps her arms around his neck before she pulls him into a kiss.
It's such a relief, to not have to try any more. Elena sets the pace, and Damon follows. He feels the muscles on his back relax as Elena's tiredness flows through him. This is not how he's imagined it, but then his imagination never did anything good to him. It's better to just stop thinking, to surrender to Elena's slow, deliberate fingers. When Damon is finally standing naked in front of her, he doesn't feel loved.
It's rude to destroy me in such small increments. But I asked for it, so I can't even blame anyone but myself.

WAHHHHHHHHHHH, my precious girl who still needs to learn to consciously take and not feel guilty for it. And Damon was born to be taken, and this is why they are so lovely to me.

I love how you play with power here. I mean, Bonnie could kill him in a second - but she doesn't because Damon is good at certain things and he's sometimes very good, even if he's unbearable. And it's just.

Ugh, I am rewatching Rome right now and then finally watching season two and I can't with Mark Anthony/Caesar, cannot. Lix and Randall, my heart. And I don't want to talk about Greta and Klaus - except I ALWAYS WANT TO TALK ABOUT THEM? But really, those five seconds of ~looks contained more chemistry than I can talk about, and I want to KNOW why she went to him and stayed, and how much they enjoyed fucking. Sigh.
lol i shipped caesar and anthony more than all their other ships put together. like sevillia and atia and cleo were all epic ladies but they were each other's true love, lbr.
lix/randall gets to new levels of epic, if you've seen ep3?
klaus/greta will forever be my favourite because it was all dark and shady and makes perfect sense for klaus (BECAUSE LET'S NOT FOR GET HE IS A BAD GUY AND WANTS A NEW WORLD ORDER WITH HIMSELF AT THE TOP YES) and is a nice contrast to klaus/caroline. like i love that he makes the distinction between a girl like greta - 'i will seduce you with POWA" and and girl like caroline - 'i will seduce you with fluff'. makes perfect sense for his characterisation. although tbh at this point i would kill to see more of the former and less of the latter, *sigh*
how much they enjoyed fucking? that would be a lot.
