Awesome review. I really enjoyed this episode. It was a really strong Clark episode. Which was really needed, imo. This is the Clois dynamic I've wanted to see more of this season. I missed all the banter and snark. Their last scene at the Daily Planet with the cheek kiss was beyond sweet. I may be in the minority here but I smiled at (and re-watched) this scene way more then the flight scene in Collateral. Maybe it's because how this episode dealt with Clois or because I loved the build up to it, but I kinda preffered this simple scene to a lot the Clois we got in the last two episodes.
I really loved it all and I agree that this interaction just feels so much better and so much more THEM and so much more satisfying than Collateral and I liked that episode, lol!
You and I, we agree on everything basically! Yes, that does seem to be the show's problem with writing women. I think that they actually managed this slightly better in earlier seasons, like in season seven, bad as it was - all three girls had very distinct arcs and even if they didn't get as much ST, I knew where they were going and I knew what it all meant. Now that the show's coming to an end, I don't know, particularly Lois' arc seems so tied to Clark's that she doesn't have something distinctly hers. And like I said, it's not a terrible thing but there's ways they could balance it out so she could have something more cohesive that spanned a few episodes. I don't even know.
I also noticed that Clark told Chloe what he told Lois in Pandora. After he said the "I thought I'd lost you" I imediatley thought of Pandora. I wonder if it was intentional or not?
I loved this episode as well. I loved it the first time I watchted, second time, third time... well you get the picture.
At first I wish there could have been more Lois in it, but I was really happy with her part in it, so it didn't bother me too much. I'm very glad the disguise talk went the way it did because I wasn't coming online if it had happened differently :) I enjoyed the Chole and Chollie parts of it as well. Well except the fight but I actually found it more funny than anything. Especially when Chloe knocked the guy out with a SOFT COVERED BOOK1! I mean come on! I couldn't stop laughing after that.
I didn't even think about the similarity of the lines, I love that kind of detail and it makes total sense that those lines would be floating around in Chloe's subconsciousness.
What I loved about this episode in terms of Clark's characterization is that the show legitimately acknowledged that Clark Kent is a freaking stud, He is this stunningly beautiful, smart, charming man. And yes, people were starting to notice him. To try and pretend that they ::wouldn't:: take notice of him is not being realistic. Some people in this world work very hard to try and stand out. Lois herself has spoken of his insecurity in "Infamous." Lois often felt as though she was not special. She didn't see her worth. Lois was the diamond in the rough

I think part of the problem is that this show has never really been able to write females with equal time and stories.
Like, if they write Lois with an arc, Chloe was in the background. If they write Chloe with an arc, Lois is in the background.
They seem incapable of giving them BOTH due time.
But the Clois made me do squealy sounds with this ep. Seriously.

It was just so much better-written, tbh.
Thanks, bb!
