I think I agree with you, especially about the first one with Clark and Jonathon in Lazarus. I just love that scene but I haven't watched it too many times because it alwasy makes me cry.
"Long story short, this show, even with all the bad choices has managed to convey so much of what makes Clark Kent tick and show us why he becomes the man he becomes. Beyond the comics. Beyond all the movies. Beyond every animated series. I'm forever indebted to it for that, and that's probably why I could never give up this show even in the shitty times" This is something I completely agree with - and what a great way to put it in words. I don't always agree with the choices the writers make (not that I always know what would have been better ;) but the show has given us this and made me adore Clark Kent/Superman even more.
p.s. a great thing you're doing with these 30 days of Smallville, I love reading your posts.
Lol, I remember watching that on your couch and trying to hold back my tears, and then I looked at you, and I was just a sniveling mess - it kills me. That, "I missed you," line just gets me every single time.
I'd forgotten how good that scene in Lazarus is - one of the best of the entire season. I'd love to have another Jonathan-Clark scene to round out the season, but I'm so happy with what they gave us.
And yes, this scene in Reckoning for Martha's grief and the scene in Vengeance for Clark's grief - these are two more of the best ever. As you say, they show what has made Smallville work for me even in the worst of times - showcasing Clark's humanity.
I completely agree, it was just so well-shot and conceived and acted, it's an amazing scene - I hope we'll get at least one more Clark-Jonathan moment too.
Yeah, and there sure have been some terrible times with this show but even still I came back and it drew me in because of him.

Just looking at the Lazarus picspam I teared up. That scene when Clark says, every time I do something right I do something wrong. *sniffle*tiful.
And Reckoning . . . add the closing scene in Vengeance I am a freaking mess.
Beautiful job on the picspams. They are beautiful
