The tub is bolted to the washer shell; maybe one of the bolts fell off? Or the motor (or counterweight) unhooked? If there's any clearance under it, use a flashlight to see if there are screws/bolts on the floor to start.
It depends somewhat on the model. For ours, one of the struts that hold the "shock absorbers" for the tub had broken.
You can open up the box and look inside. On ours, the front panel is held on with two clips located just under the top panel. You might be able to tell what's wrong just by opening it up and looking around.
