I hope they all survive. Then again I love the angst in your story so I wouldn't mind it at all. And if Kurt got hurt or kidnapped then all hell would break out I imagine. But now with the babies...D: Basically I love this series I love that I saw this update and sorry for my gibberish.
Thank you! Yes, Kurt means a lot to them, as does Pippa. Of course when you're in a small community, everyone is closer. (Or bitchier, but you know, common outside enemy.)
I really like the time jump you used in this part. As interested as I would be in seeing how the group set up their new home, or seeing how everyone adapted to eating a fish-based diet, seeing how they divided up the boats I really enjoyed jumping ahead of all that to get a look into everyone's head now that they've had a bit of peace. I think Kurt summed it up perfectly - so badly wanting to hope, but stability brings fear that it will all be destroyed again.
I loved the Santana and Tianna interaction. And Van's having twins! Oh my! That will certainly be exciting.
Thanks so much for sharing! I realize we're in the home stretch now and I'm so curious to see how you plan on ending it - do they run into other survivors from luckier countries? Do they thrive in their new community with strong allies? Do they have to explain to the remaining UN how Kurt is their leader when people start trying to default to Forrest of Burt? Do Kurt and Blaine ever have more kids?
Excited to guess and excited to see what really happens :D
Hee. Thank you. I'm not sure I had it in me to go through all the details of building their new home, but I needed to touch back so you could see what Kurt has been envisioning on their trip out to the coast. He just wasn't prepared to succeed!
I'm glad Santana and Tianna are working for you. And lol Van and Finn.
While it'll be hard to give up this verse, getting to address some of those ending questions is something I've wanted to do for a long time. It'll be good to close to have this Klaine settled.
Happy to see an update! I will always love this 'verse. I love the city they have created and the idea of them creating folk songs to remember what happened and those they have lost is fantastic. <3
I spent the afternoon re-reading this series--why do I love this effed up world so much?!
It was super weird after reading all of that to get to this chapter of relative (PTSD-laced) peace. I lovelovelove the oral tradition and storytelling motif going on in this.
Ha. I waste so much of my own time. I'm glad to be a time suck for others, too.
Then you know how Kurt feels. His norm is NOT peace of any kind, and it leaves them with so much space to have to deal with the effects of what's happened. I'm glad the oral tradition makes sense. With so many creative people in one place, it seemed natural that they would be pulling things into stories and using them to remember and work through things.
