Those are definitely some, ah, interesting choices on the part of the artist. Unless the coat served some sort of plot purpose...

I do love that the shorts match his sneakers. Better be careful he doesn't trip over that barbell, though.

Eye-lasering people with his hands in his pockets is a nice touch.

It may have served a purpose… He knows the barbell is there. He picks it up and shows off for Clark in the next scene.
