This was a nice chapter, the last part was sad. I hope Lex sues the heck out of Lionel. I know Lionel would probably lie to make it seem like Lex was a bad employee. But image the media attention it would get, father fires son who has HIV and is cripple. Lionel's stock would go downhill fast, he'll probably have to settle with Lex to raise his stock prices.

I don't usually comment like this, but I want to grab Martha by her hair and kick her in her fucking neck. I want to chase Lionel down the highway, run over him and back the hell up, and do it again. I'm furious here--just burning mad. They were doing so well, and that vicious asshole had to ruin it. some body better help those guys, damn it.

I'm really glad you enjoyed it. There was love, but there was a lot of pain. This chapter hurt. That's why it took me so long to do it. Lex didn't want to cooperate (and I didn't blame him).

I'm trusting you to make everything better -- eventually -- but right now this story is really breaking my heart (not to mention pissing me off). Lex and Clark were both doing so well, with each other's support and Mercy's help, and then Lionel pulled the rug out from under all of them for no better reason than bigotry and the pathological need to keep everyone under his thumb. *fumes, and kicks Lionel and Martha* I actually had to take a break in the middle of reading this to calm myself down a little and remind myself that Mercy and Lex do have desirable employment skills, even if they have to find a way around Lionel's blacklisting, and that there ought to be a way for the three of them to stay together and survive, and maybe even zap Lionel with a major lawsuit or something. *looks hopeful* Right? *hugs Lex and Clark and Mercy, and Daize, too*

You aren't the first person to suggest lawsuit, and I think it's a fairly obvious course of action, even though in Kansas, termination based on sexual orientation is not illegal... still. Who wants press THAT bad?
