i suppose the most precious item i have is my son.
well, family in general is precious to me. but spawn is even more so. i'm lucky as hell to have him. it was kind of hairy back when he was little, mostly because of the Asperger's diagnosis. but he's overcome so much and is now a well adjusted 17 year old boy. he doesn't get into trouble. he doesn't disobey me. he doesn't do anything horrible. honestly, one of the biggest problems i've got with him is that he's a terribly picky eater.
he is my pride and joy. the love of my life. its fun as hell to tease him because he doesn't really react well to it. the boy loves to play video games. he says please and thank you and you're welcome better than most adults do. he holds the door for people. i don't have to yell at him when he does something wrong or doesn't do something. i don't have to beat him to get him to behave. i never have. he knows i'm the boss and he listens. but he's also a kind of friend who goes to the movies with me. he does his best to help out around the house and he makes me laugh with his silliness.
he was his grandpa's pride and joy, too. everytime we got new pictures of him, my dad had to have one to show off to the guys he worked with. i think spawn brought out some really good things in my dad. its sad that dad died before he could see the boy graduate. still, i'm sure dad is watching over him. and us.
i am so lucky to have the boy. he's my light and my life. i know i'm blessed to have him and i can't imagine what my life or world would be like without him in it.
