it would be good if men learned how to step up, but it isn't there problem so why should they worry about it?

i guess the whole thing about it all is that these fuck nuts make these broad, general, sweeping statements and ignore the fact that there are some single parents out there (not just moms) who didn't think they'd be single and there are some who are doing better than these people really believe. again... having a man and a woman together to raise a child is as ridiculous a requirement as having more money than god. it doesn't mean dick in the end.
thanks, hon. it means alot. i probably shouldn't let these idjits get to me. but for fuck's sake. i was pregnant when Dan Quayle said it and i didn't like it much back then. i sure as shit don't like it now.

As for these comments. I find it incredibly ironic that they come from well off, white men who will never have to be a "poor uneducated single mother". Seriously, what the fuck do they know about it? Obviously nothing.

it is kind of funny that we always hear about the plight of the single mom from well off, rich white men, isn't it? *hugs* again, thanks. your comments mean muchly.

You are a great mom, and this guy is an idiot. Fuck him and the whore he rode in on. Seriously. Being a single mom is tough. It's not glamorous, and I don't recall seeing anyone trying to make it look glamorous. Not Murphy Brown (yeah, I remember that) and not Natalie Portman (honestly, I didn't even know she was pregnant?). It may not be the ideal situation, but it happens. A lot. It's not the end of the world.
I know there's prejudice. I experienced it with my oldest spawn even though Trae and I were living together, just because we didn't have that stupid slip of paper.... It's ridiculous.

i think that there's far too much importance placed on that piece of paper. thank you for that, organized religion. marriage doesn't determine whether one is a good, successful parent. there are married couples who struggle to provide for their kids. there are single parents who don't. it depends on where you look.
thanks for the vote of confidence, hon. sometimes i wonder. but he is a pretty good kid and he hasn't really ever done anything bad. so i guess i'm doing okay where he's concerned.
