It's been two years ...

On June 8, 2005, I was wheeled into surgery at Peninsula Hospital in Burlingame. I have never looked back.

THEN: 264 lbs.
NOW: 146 lbs.

THEN: BMI of 43.9
NOW: BMI of 24.3

THEN: Size 26-28, XXXL
NOW: Size 8-10, M

THEN: Miserable and ashamed
NOW: Happy and confident!

Well, that photo was taken on my last day of work before the surgery, when hope was on the horizon! But I felt horrible shame and embarrassment whenever I had to fight to buckle a seat belt, or squeeze uncomfortably into a chair, or try on everything in the "plus size" store and have nothing fit. (I lost track of the number of times I cried in dressing rooms.) No more!
