Well, I don't want to steal from the lovely labsquint and her near-patented "Blogging the Novel", but I just hit ten complete chapters on my massive re-write of my massive novel that I've been working on for massive amounts of years, so this post is Blogging the Novel

Oh, I feel your pain. I'm in the middle of trying to figure out where to add 30,000 words to a book written for shorter guidelines and it's damn hard. And, yes, pacing, pacing, pacing -- I'm basically having to rewrite the book because the addition of subplots and more backstory will throw off the original pacing. I have to find the new pace.

I've been wondering -- are you planning on pursuing traditional publishing?

.... anyone else wish there was a "Writing my novel/chapter/story sucks and I hate it, why do I do this to myself?" group? Think a word race would help either of us, m'dear? I'm going to kill Gambit with a rusty spoon if it doesn't stop being like I'm trying to sculpt granite with my fingernails.

I have never written a novel so I can't commiserate. I _did_ bring cookies tho. Kinda.
