This right here is why I don't sign up to write for prompts unless I actually already have an idea and see a prompt that fits it. It makes me feel like a giant loser, but I really can't write on demand.
Prompts are hard. It needs to fit the mood, and make sense, and be fun...that is why I avoid them as a general rule. I need to Do My Own Thing, man, you know?
Darlin', I know that you are NOT fail as an author. Seriously.
Remember too that your creative muse is in a dark place with SDP, so it may be hard to disengage and write fluff at this point. Don't force it. Just keep writing, even if it's for SDP, because eventually you'll find the inspiration for the fluff.
Or you could watch DT in "Traffic Warden", which may stimulate the fluff muse :)
