Chapter 50 [SPOILERS]

Aug 19, 2008 17:45

I'd be lying if I said I didn't see it coming. I've tried to remain optimistic about this, but I still couldn't shake off the little seed of doubt that Chapter 47 planted in me, as wonderful as the chapter was. I read the translations and couldn't stop going "oh shit, oh shit". It'll probably take a while for me to write down my thoughts on one of ( Read more... )

OK-important message: get sad after the NEXT chapter, not now; it's to open ended and I need to sleep at night.

That being said...gosh what a beautiful chapter...don't you agree that Yuhki Kamatani deserves some sort of award for this?

It'll definitely explain all the focus Yoite and Miharu has been getting. I ached so much when I think of how this is merely a chapter closed in Miharu's life as he gets ready for the next one. I don't mind this, but it just won't be the same without Yoite; it's unlikely that Miharu will proceed along his journey to his kingdom without the powerful influence of Yoite on him. I'm interested to see where his character will go, but at the same time, my heart aches. so. so. much for Yoite as well as Miharu.

;__________;

I tried to be optimistic too... But seeing chapter 49 has actually gave me the doomed impression, especially when Hanabusa hugged Yoite and told him to come back with Miharu... I was like, Damn, not the death flag AGAIN... I still hope for a little twist in the next chapter though... But, for now, I'll just cry in the corner of my room... *sniff* Yoite...

I wonder what is with this year's August... First Rolo from Geass, then followed by Yoite (;_;) THEN Macross F decided to pull out the impossible death card (NOOOOOOO!!!!!!!! ONE OF MY FAVOURITE PAIRINGS!!!!!!!!!!!) That is what I call complete depressing month...

It was the little date scene in Chapter 47 that did it for me. Seeing how everyone was so excited over it, I brushed it away anyway, but there was always this nagging feeling that something was up with this scene, and indeed, it was an epic death flag for Yoite. I'll have to read the rest of the translations and scans and pull out my thoughts, but to be honest, I'm not excited over it, as I know I'm gonna be in much pain when I write up this entry. It just won't be the same. At all.

As for Macross, 2008 - Year of the Dead Snipers. :'( Poor Klan!

Thus is why I added 'again'. Chapter 47 have the vibe of happiness before something bad happened... And as much as I squealed for them, the nagging feeling just don't disappear... And I thought 2 chapter he avoided it so it should be okay. And you know the result... Sigh, how depressing...

If only Mikhail is Michelle... then (s)he could avoid the curse of snipers :P joke! There goes my 2nd generation of Max and Millia... Klan would definitely channel the soul of Millia on next episode... You'd better make up your mind, Alto or Mikhail will haunt you for the rest of your life! >:(

This is really a beautiful chapter...
and although its hard to believe Yoite will be coming back, it seems clear to me that Miharu will use the Shinrabanshou in the next chapter...

But what he will do is still a mystery.

Poor Miharu/Yoite/Yukimi :(

I've read this chapter many times already.

I'm...still not sure. Unless I'm completely off course, didn't we see his "natural" death from the final effects of Kira, rather than his erasure by the shirabanshou? Certainly when he begins to crumble (and what an eerie, powerful moment) the asasassins comment "so this is what a Kira user's end looks like". If that's so, then I think--if we must lose him--this is the right way; his life remains, as does everyone's memory of him and the effect he had on everyone who knew him, and Miharu can carry that memory as he goes on toward his destiny ( ... )

That's a good observation. It should also be noted, though, that Miharu was utterly stunned when Yoite's weight fell on him due to his missing leg. It may be that Miharu either wanted to spare Yoite the agony, or he just doesn't want to lose Yoite to Kira, period. Only when he was in Miharu's arms did he vanish away completely, and then we see the marks on Miharu's face - perhaps Miharu did use the Shinrabanshou's power after all.

Keeping my fingers crossed for a happy ending in the anime! ;_;

With the erasement you're thinking about, I don't believe it's going to happen, rest assured - as it basically means rendering over half the volumes useless. You're absolutely right, Miharu and everyone will go back to where they started at the beginning of the story, where they had to start Nabari no Ou all over again. If that happens, then we do have to ask Sensei and ourselves, for what reason was Yoite's existence for in the first place? For what reason was Miharu and Yoite put through so many trials for?

Yoite and Miharu drew their character development heavily from each other, and from there, it was used to move the story forward. Erasing Miharu, and everyone's, memories of Yoite is to push away the main pillar of support for the series.

Trust in Sensei - she'll definitely use Yoite to push Miharu forward, even if he is no longer there. ;)
