Not to discourage you, but someones already used this idea. eldritchhorrors wrote a wonderful and distirbing story 'A Gilded Hook'. You should read it, although it might not have the same impact now that I've given away the big plot twist.

I'd have actually been really surprised if the idea hadn't come up before. XD Glancing through that story, though (which I'll have to read properly when I get back from work, as it looks quite good o.o) it doesn't really look like what I have in mind. Thanks for the heads up, though. ^_^
