I was so beyond blocked for Adventure, until I finally said, "To hell with it, I'm just doing a Die Hard reference." XD And it all sort of fell into place from there.

Re: Drama, this conversation is sadly part of my own personal TOS canon--Jim's hope trying desperately to outweigh his own doubts. (Though if he'd known what was coming, I'm of the firm belief that he would have wasted Khan then and there. No one gets away with threatening his Spock.)
