More Ship Wars bizzness and a request for input from the audience

All right, fellow K/S shippers, it's that time again.  That's right,

Ship Wars Prompt 4!!

Not that I'm excited about it or anything.  Oh, hush.

Here's the deal.  The prompt is "In the Doghouse Again", which I anticipate will lead to some hilariously cracktastic entries.  And because I'm . . . well, me, I want to enter something again.  But you know ( Read more... )

writing, ship wars

But in what sense? I'm at a loss to think of a scene from that story that would fit.

Okay, that's a lie, I'm totally not. But I don't think it would make any sense without context.

Well, I'm a bit biased as I love your Mirror fics with an unholy passion, but I don't think it's too much. We don't get too many mirrorverse fics, so it's nice to have a variety. Just my two cents. XD

Hee! That's good, because, um, I may have already started writing about Kirk being captured and viciously used.

*whew* when I first started reading this post I was thinking - Did I read the prompt wrong? Does it have to be in the mirror verse? Oh noes! Because I don't know anything about the mirror verse so cannot write a response for that.

But, from the rest of your post I see that it is okay! And the 200 words I have already written can remain :)

No, apparently only what I write has to be Mirrorverse, because that's the mode my mind is stuck in lately. XD

OMG it will be time for submissions before too long! And there will be a new crop of K/S to read! *flails with excitement*

I will hopefully finish my response on time! I should go try to read your mirror 'verse stuff. I need to find the TOS ep and watch it again so that I can remember what the deal is with the mirror verse.

Well, first, OMG you totally should rewatch "Mirror Mirror" because it's FANTASTIC and makes me go all wobbly-boned.

Not that I'm biased. Maybe just a little.

Basically, though, all you need to know is that there's an alternate universe where the Federation (called The Terran Empire) is evil and sadistic and all about the conquest and slaughter of weaker planets/alien species. The women wear belly shirts, torture is an everyday occurrence, people assassinate their superior officers to advance in rank, and the Empire rules through fear and an iron fist. Also, Spock has a beard.

I highly recommend reading this recap, as it's both informative and hilarious.

Come to the dark side. We don't have cookies, but we do have sparkly gold sashes and rough sex.

LOL I'd be REALLY interested to see what you will make of this prompt with the Mirror verse so I guess I'm going here 'go girl, go!'. I do have an idea for the prompt but .. not sure if it's a good one. Also, since I'm going on a skiing trip tomorrow and don't return until Thursday .. so .. not sure I'll make it. Either way, yes, I think seeing a mirror submission from you for this would be really cool. Though .. you DO know how much I love your writing so anything you'd go and submit will be devoured by me with great excitement :)

Dogs wear collars, that's all I'm sayin'. -_-

Well, I hope you have a chance to write something, but if not I hope you at least have fun skiing!

I think you may already know what I'm going to say here. More twisted mirrorverse with possessive!evil!Spock putting Kirk in his place for frankly somewhat skeevy reasons? I SEE NO PROBLEM WITH THIS. In fact, I tend to encourage it wherever it may be, because I am apparently a deeply disturbed individual.

In summary: do iiiiit.

Is it weird that, having started writing it, it's actually turning out more sweet and tender than I'd anticipated? XD Which, you know, is still only sweet and tender by Mirrorverse standards, but still.

Not really, because even though Kirk and Spock are evil, they're still Kirk-and-Spock, which means they're probably in love and stupidly devoted to each other underneath all the mind-games and struggles for dominance. At least, in my head they are, because much as I am enjoying the Mirrorverse I'm not really a fan of unadulterated sadism. So yes--abused!Kirk being re-claimed by somewhat-evil!Spock who is expressing the concern he refuses to acknowledge through possessiveness really works for me.

Yes, this, exactly this. ^_^

I love that we're so in-sync. XD I'm a sucker for evil couples who are sadistic and twisted and yet still all schmoopy and sweet together.
