I think I will. I hear good things. They're on my 2012 reading list. I will certainly read them before the movie is released.
:) Aw, thank you. Um.... this is something that has been on my mind while watching couples on the train. A fic where A/P don't have to hide their love anymore and get to show affection for one another in public. Even if it's just holding hands.
I am SO excited about this movie. I actually picked up the books after reading your (non-spoilery) reviews, and I LOVED them. I love their depiction of Katniss, even if she is a touch older than I expected. 2012 is too far away. :)
I just picked up the book "Hunger Games" at Barnes & Noble. I decided to give it a try for three reasons:
1. I feel the need to get into another "story," if not the accompanying fandom (though to tell the truth, I've kind of had my fill of fandoms, so I will proceed with extreme caution if HG tickles my fancy); 2. Your ringing endorsement of the series; 3. While in the process of moving, I got rid of over 95% of my books (for space-saving reasons, among others), and I realized after I started settling in at my new place that I only have a handful of books left, all of which I've already read many times, and would like something new.
They probably had Jennifer Lawrence in mind from the moment they saw "Winter's Bone." She was terrific in that...only to be supremely meh as Young!Mystique in "X-Men: First Class."
Course they did. Probably after they saw her swimsuit pictures... I'm bitter about they're choice is it obvious. I loved that Katniss was "regular girl" pretty in the books. Not supermodel pretty. Give me the girl from Kick Ass or something......
Lawrence is a bit too old, but other than that, I don't have an issue with her physical appearance - if she can capture the essence of Katniss, then I can overlook the age.
