Message board hosts

Any recommendations for a good free/cheap message board host?

I've more or less decided that's how I'm going to host my fic challenges, and want to get started on implementing it ASAP. :)

I used ezboard when I had my Witchblade site, but they don't appear to be around anymore. :(

It's too bad people weren't keen on LJ - I think a comm would be perfect for what you want to do.

If you have a webhost, phpBB boards are pretty painless to set up. The most difficult part I've encountered is just convincing my ftp to upload the huge file initially, but after that it pretty much walks you through, and the boards are great and professional and all that.

SMF forums are pretty easy to set up if you have a webhost.

I'll second the phpBB, I used them briefly and they were pretty and painless to set up.

A friend of mine is using freeforums.org with no problems.
