Every picture I've ever seen of that area does look spectacular (part of why I've looked into eventually relocating there) - I can only imagine how much more awesome the reality must be!
I think the big snag is convincing my stepdad to make the 2,000 mile road trip hauling their mini RV hookup. He's not at all wild about it, but Mom is all for it. She's always been iffy about going to the PNW because of the cloud cover, but seems more open now (I think her friend told her she didn't even much notice the clouds since she lives on the beach). I've had some difficulty convincing her she really doesn't want to take a dip in the Sound, though. ;)
It's really nice in the summer. A few cloudy or rainy days, sure, but many sunny ones as well. It's unusual for the daytime high to get over 80 - they call it a heat wave if it does.
Let me know if a visit pans out. If not, I hope you get to come up to the Seattle area, at least. It really is gorgeous up here.

Another one of many reasons I've wanted to get up there - a beautiful summer day where I'm not boiling in my clothes! ;)
It looks like we're definitely planning on going now - my stepdad just told Mom there's absolutely no way he's driving that far, and he himself refuses to ever fly anywhere (he is the worst sort of homebody *facepalm*), so Mom's decided to look into what it could cost for her and me to fly up and stay for a week this summer... or rather, have me start looking into it, probably sometime in July. :)
SKYWLKR... yep, 2004 red Monte Carlo. If you want, you can come to my house and photograph it in the driveway. :D In fact, you can get a shot of my husband's tag while you're at it... SITHLRD...
I've been meaning to take pics and post them... somehow I just never get around to it.
Aw, comeon... it had to be mine... how many other Skywalker fanatics could there possibly be in OKC.
The sweet part is, it was my first choice for a vanity plate, but I thought I'd never in a million years be able to get it. I was stunned when it arrived. Ecstatic, but stunned. :)
So it was you who took my plate! I should've known. It was about 8th and Lincoln; I was a lane over and a car behind. What're the odds, huh? If I had been on time to work this morning I wouldn't have seen it. ;)
I guess it's been long enough since I was at your place that somehow it completely slipped my mind that you guys both had SW vanity plates. o_O I keep toying with the idea of getting one, L8Y V8R or something like that, but... just hasn't happened.

Well, there is me. And my little sister. So at least two. *g*
