my new pizza OTP

Ugh. Mom stayed over last night after she, my sister, and I went out to a belated birthday dinner. And what do I find on my new ottoman this morning? A half-eaten breadcrust, complete with crumbs, not even a frickin' paper towel under it. I ask her about it and she talks to me like I'm being absurd for wanting something between crumb-inducing ( Read more... )

The thing is, my mom usually is more like that too - there've been times I've come home from work on days when she's stayed over here, to find she's done all the dishes, cleaned the bathroom, and vacuumed the carpet (much to my chagrin). What she did with the breadcrust this morning was almost grounds to check for demonic possession. ;)

And agreed on the pizza - honestly, I think this is the first "great" pizza I can remember ever having. They're always either "pretty good" or "not bad." If only it wasn't so hard to get. Bah. *is still thinking about it*

New furniture reihla September 11 2006, 18:53:18 UTC
Nobody understands how we feel about new furniture. Nobody. I got my livingroom set last spring and didn't really think too much about it until I invited some of our friends over to swim (they have kids from ages 3-10). It was really frustrating trying to get parents to understand that I didn't want their kids eating on my furniture. I know they deal with chocolately fingers, bright red kool-aid, wet swimsuits, etc. in their own home, but I don't have kids and I really didn't want any of that on my new furniture. Sigh. I hate to admit it, but I didn't invite them over near as often this summer as I would have if they'd even bothered to act like they would watch their kids around my new stuff ( ... )
