“Oh, my User…” Ram groaned in pain and frustration.  What had he ever done to deserve this?  He’d done his best to serve his function, followed his User’s commands with cheer and promptness.  And now he would be lucky to last out the cycle.  “Wish they’d just derez me already.”

“Don’t give up yet, friend,” said the program in the next cell.  “

Ahh, I saw this on the meme and loved it! And I love it again here :) Gorgeous interaction between the two of them, Ram's complete faith in and adoration of his more powerful friend. Tron's remarks about Alan could just as easily be applied to Tron himself. It's like there's a little hierarchy of hero-worship going on, and it's lovely. Great fic!

(btw completely unrelated, but is your username a reference to Neuromancer?)
