With regular weekends like that it's a wonder we all remain sane as long as we do. To that end, I believe we could do with something relaxing.

I propose a nice afternoon tea. Some music, food, and small indulgences. Perhaps in the gardens.

Would anyone be interested?

Are you sure anyone here is still sane? You seem somewhat sane, though. How long have you been here? I have to know.

Relaxing is good and all, but I'd rather go on amusement park rides, or the closest thing to those I can find here.

Over a year, although it doesn't feel like it sometimes.

An amusement park?

You've stayed refreshingly sane, then.

And, yeah. I would prefer amusement park rides to tea and gardens. Not sure how close I can get to that in this place, but I'm gonna look around and see what I can find.

I've had my moments to be sure.

What's an amusement park?

[Beckett has a few reactions to the news; at first, she's overjoyed at the potential to get inside information on the Master and anyone he worked with. Then, when she realizes that it's not exactly morally white, there's the guilt for being happy. Not to mention a little anger that this whole thing is necessary, just because some wacko decided corpses might be tasty.]You should've notified one of the heads. It's not standard procedure to bug where I come from, not unless you're CIA. On the other hand, there's no legal system here to prosecute you if the Master finds them and decides to press charges. And, at the moment, police protocol is so disorganized that I can't point you to a handbook to correct the error. If anything, I'm at fault here and this obviously means I have to get working on sending out a new protocol and code manual ( ... )

To be honest, there wasn't time. But if you prefer the devices can be deactivated and rendered completely inert.

But I thought there had already been discussion about this sort of thing, at least where the Master was concerned.

Go ahead and leave them, that's all right. Can I ask how you pulled it off?

Yeah, the Master's entire case is a department-wide pain in our ass, I know. A lot of wires crossed and people firmly on opposite sides of the fence. I'm trying to get used to the-- flexibility of the rules at work, here. I suppose with so much uncontrollable vigilantism, I cling to procedure even more.

I apologize if I overreacted. I really do appreciate the work you've done.

Well, you're welcome. And I do admit, it doesn't exactly sit right with me, either. Especially in light of what I did.

He became a child during one of the curses and as we are of the same species he was inclined to trust me. I spent the afternoon at his home and places the devices then.

I'm generally not the person to jump into a situation like that, but... well its done now. And I do hope it doesn't cause too much difficulty for you.

Thank you for the tea yesterday. It was really very kind of you. Shockingly kind.

Despite my general dislike of you, I have no quarrel with a child that hasn't turned his life to ruining the lives of others.

Ah, well, you have clearly no idea about how naughty a child I was.
