Fair Isle Crochet Tutorial

On Craftster.org, I shared how I work crocheted fair isle. I thought I'd share it here, too. :)

A few things to note: I basically taught myself how to crochet. I know I hold everything in the wrong way. Please look past this. I'm also not a native English speaker, so excuse some confusion in terminology. Lastly, I expect you'll know some basics in ( Read more... )

Wow, this is funky, it does actually look like knitting in the end. I will have to try that some time. As far as I can see, this should be called a "half" in German (though it's never looked like knitting when I did it XD), but then I don't give very much about what crochet is supposed to be, either. *scratchhead*

It doesn't usually look like this, but because I make the stitch in the "back" of the previous row, it looks different :D

I see. I usually just use whatever loop I happen to pick up, back or front. XD But then my current project, for example, uses a lot of very fuzzy yarns where the loops are hard to tell apart.
