A new jacket
I'm going to whip a new 18th century jacket together in the next few weeks for a September event I'm attending. I've had this fabric for a while now (sorry about the blurry-ness), and I was going to sell it, but as usual, the greedy side of me is just too powerful, and it will become a new garment all for me ;-) I'm thinking of using view d of ( Read more... ) -

Secret project
Everyone else on LJ seems to have done a secret project, so I'm going to do one as well ;) My parents are most generously paying for a new costume ensemble for me (a graduation gift! squee!), so after some deliberating, I think I have figured out what I'm going to make, and I'm very excited. Embroidery
After 5-6 hours of embroidery, this is as far as I have gotten. On one sleeve... Oh well, I'm fairly pleased with the progress. :) The thread is actually silver, not white like it looks in the picture. I ran out of it this morning, so I need to get some more this week.

Exciting stuff!
As of today, I am officially a high school graduate. It almost hasn't hit me yet, except a part of me almost feels kind of "empty" inside. It's cool, but really weird at the same time! My graduation ceremony was awesome, though! Well, on to college classes and part time work! :-O -

Take a look at these! I'm sure many of you have already been to that site, but it's new to me... I'd love gowns made from the blue/white/silver stripe, red and white stripe , cool blue, and the grey and white stripe. *sigh* It's not terribly expensive for silk, either. -
Regency garb
I thought I'd ask some of you more knowledgeable and experienced seamstresses before I make a decision myself: Which pattern would you recommend I use for regency stays?
And furthermore, which pattern would you recommend I use for a regency gown bodice? I've used La Mode Bagatelle's and Sensibility's, and I don't exactly love either, so I'm just ( Read more... ) -
Pink Chiffon
My mom has 7 yards of light pink chiffon in her fabric stash that she said I can have for myself, if I can come up with a use for it! :-D *happiness* Does anyone have any suggestions for what it could be used for? It's so pretty... *drool*
