LOL! Yes, in most fandoms, that would be a blooper on the writer's part... :)
Paul has mentioned that that bit of canon, the "Banik don't show feelings or pain so people enslave them" thing, seems to have fallen to the wayside, but I just think it's a peculiarity of Stark that he's so "out" whith his feelings and thoughts
*nod* I've played around with variations on that a bit, myself: what it means, how normal Baniks usually act, why they have that reputation, why Stark is so different... It's a bit of background that tends to go by the wayside in fanfic as much as in canon (heck, more so, as we don't exactly meet any other Baniks in canon), and it always pleases me to see it acknowledged and dealt with. I really like what you did with it here. I can't remember whether I've said that before or not.
Plus the fact that this was written for Astro, after all.

Mike actually pinpointed why this is, why people freak out so strongly. You can kill main characters, but cute little innocent squeeky sidekicks - it's like killing off babies.
