That was beautiful. The loss of a friend and lessons learned, truly we must be thankful for those we have left. *sniff* You made me cry.

Wow. Uhm, thank you. I was prety sure I'd written a good story, with those themes, I just didn't think it was enugh to make anybody but me and my fiance (who's been living with this story almost as long as I have) actually cry.

Thank you so much.

Oh, wow. THANK YOU. That was a frelling good story, and very much worth waiting for. I'm not even sure where to begin... The ending made my gut ache, it quite literally did. I managed not to quite cry at the death scene, but then the epilogue came along and brought tears to my eyes, after all. And, yes, that's a good thing.

And, god, I love your post-PK Wars Stark. Saner, more clear of thought, but still so recognizably Stark. And still capable of using that crazy act of his in such clever, clever ways. And, just... Oh, my, sweet, sweet Stark. *sniffle* All the emotional resonance there, all the feeling of completion... It's perfect. It's so the way he ought to end... But waaaaah ( ... )

Okay, my day? Utterly MADE.

The ending made my gut ache, it quite literally did. I managed not to quite cry at the death scene, but then the epilogue came along and brought tears to my eyes, after all. And, yes, that's a good thing.

I was hoping the epilogue wasn't overdone. I winced one, going "Geez, John, are you SURE you actually want to say that?" and he basically went "Shut up and write, woman!!" *sighs* There's no talking to these people...

And, god, I love your post-PK Wars Stark. Saner, more clear of thought, but still so recognizably Stark.

Coming from you, that is like the complement to end all complements. I mean, I think the only way to top that is if Paul or Monj said it. Seriously.

*sniffle* All the emotional resonance there, all the feeling of completion... It's perfect. It's so the way he ought to end... But waaaaah.

Aww, I'm sorry. Yeah, there was this moment of blind panic I had, when this was almost done, where I went "waitaminute, what am I doing?? I'm killing off Stark! She's going to KILL me!!" But this ( ... )

I was hoping the epilogue wasn't overdone.

It easily could have been, I suppose, but IMHO it totally wasn't. But then, it his on some of my personal issues with the meaning of Zhaan's sacrifice, etc., in exactly the right way, I think.

I mean, I think the only way to top that is if Paul or Monj said it. Seriously.

OK, now you're giving me way too much credit. :) But I thank you, nontheless.

Aww, I'm sorry. Yeah, there was this moment of blind panic I had, when this was almost done, where I went "waitaminute, what am I doing?? I'm killing off Stark! She's going to KILL me!!"

Dude, that is so not something to be sorry for! I love angst, y'know, and I'm a complete sucker for a really good death scene.

I discovered over the course of writing that John and I actually have very frighteningly similar ways of talking,

Yeah, I find Crichton's dialog frighteningly easy for much the same reasons. Fortunately, I don't have the Canadianisms thing to worry about.

And rereading I noticed I didn't always spell the Qualati's names ( ... )

Wow. Frelling amazing. I read this at work so I couldn't cry but my eyes got misty anyway. [sniff]

Slavers, pirates, terrible housekeepers...

Great line--and it isn't the only one.

He’d taken to stroking the smooth skin of his right cheek in times of anxiety

Nice touch (so to speak)!

I can't single out any other lines in particular because they’re all so damned good, but you write Crichton incredibly well and you made me laugh a lot. I really liked your cat aliens, the names Crichton had for them, and their backstory.

[whimper] I heaved a huge sigh of relief when you didn't kill Stark or Noranti--but then you did kill Starky. Damn, eye's filling up again. You gave him a good send-off and I love that Aeryn heard him speak and John dreamed of where he was (I hope). And I hope Zhaan is with him there in that lush blue grass.

Aww, I'm sorry. I'm beggenning to think I should hand out complementary boxes of hankies with this story. :D

Well, I can't take credit for Noranti's dialogue - she really wrote it herself, and that line made me chuckle at the time, too!

Nice touch (so to speak)!

Thank you! I have to admit I AM proud of that detail - it felt so right for Stark.

you write Crichton incredibly well and you made me laugh a lot.

Again, that's a case of the Character writing themselves. :D He's SO distinctive!

I really liked your cat aliens, the names Crichton had for them, and their backstory.

Thank you! I develloped a very love/hate relationship with the Qualati while writing, and I'm glad I did them justice.

[whimper] I heaved a huge sigh of relief when you didn't kill Stark or Noranti--but then you did kill Starky.

Ahah! So it DID work! Yeah, I'm evil. I'm sorry.

You gave him a good send-off and I love that ( ... )

And even now my BF is yelling that Stark DIDN'T really die, and he's coming back, dammit!

Go, him! Oh, it warms the cockles of my heard (whatever they are) that there are so many people that love Stark (esp when I hear that a lot don't). He's my favourite too.

And Vila's not dead either.

And Vila's not dead either.

Yes, well, didn't the lot in charge SAY that? Vila "dying" was one of the most traumatic bits of my early childhood...

This is fantabulous. I like the dream at the end bringing me back to the first meeting.

*pumps fist into air* YES!!!!!

Whoo! I *GOT* somebody!

It was so hard, writing this (since I KNEW everything) being able to tell if I'd given too much away too early, or not enough so that it seemed recidulous and came out of nowhere. But my betas didn't mention anything being problematic, and niether Astro nor Nico really mentioned it one way or the other.
