I am so glad this exploaded on you because it was perfect. I ache for them all, the wanting to help, the teenage awkwardness and not knowing how to help.

And knowing what happens to Roy later on and he's already beginning to close off and feel alone and become so uncertain of his worth to his freinds--that he really has 'got' them to turn to...HURTS!

I'm really glad that they came across awkward teenage boys who want to help (or ask for it) but don't know how, since that's what I was aiming for. :)

Also, I adore Alfred hanging out in Dick's subconscious like that.

Dick's conscious has a British accent.

This is wonderful Donna voice.

Oh, thank you. My biggest worry was Donna, who pushed her way in and refused to be relegated to a passing reference. The only Donna I've read is Graduation Day and The Return of Donna Troy, as well as a handful of cameos here and there. But she strikes me as a very strong woman--she'd have to be, being the only girl amidst four teenage boys!--and then there's the fact that her death made such an impact on everyone. I like her, or the version that's taken residence in my head. ;)

And I love how *certain* Dick is of it, in contrast to Roy's uncertainty.

Dick might be in a bit of denial regarding how seriously bad things are, but he doesn't have a bit of doubt that his team isn't together and able to handle anything.

I assumed during it that Roy was already in the midst of at least the beginning of his drug problem in this timeline? I'm not sure exactly when I placed this, but it' ( ... )

Eee! I'm so happy you liked Donna here, because I was *very* concerned about doing justice with her. (I did a commentary on this fic that sort of deals with my Donna worries, actually.) So I'm thrilled that you liked it!
