Silk stays of doom

Apr 28, 2010 23:03

My computer can't read my camera's SD card so no current pictures of me trying them on. I do however have a picture of them from last night, sans all 18 of my pretty eyelets and two back-most boning channels *grumbles about technology*. ( Pictures and some words )

18th century, fabric love, mocha stays, aprons

i had to considerably take in my stays as well (they're still a little too big in the bust...). sewing the boning channels is actually quite fun and relaxing. are you doing fully- or half-boned stays?

Oh I hope they are much more fun than edging all the pieces was. I think I want to do fully boned stays. Have you made or worn half-boned stays? I'm wondering how the two are different in the wear-factor

Thank you for friending me :) Your journal is so inspiring as is all your work

they are! the worst is the binding, by far. i've only done fully boned stays, so i don't know what the difference would be with half-boned.

and you are very welcome! i'm glad i found you! we really need to have that sewing day eventually...
