It will take time, open minds and observation for people to see and change their minds about same sex couples raising children. In my professional life, I've worked with same sex couples and their sick newborns. They have all been as loving, caring and will learning as any hetero couple, or single parent. In some cases even more so. Also the "older" generation has been raised to see same sex couples as being "wrong" or "sinful". There's not much you can do about that, my own mother at 80+ still sees lesbians and homosexuals as disgusting, but I've raised my children to be open minded. Tolerance and education.
Hey, thanks for the comment - surprised me a bit someone's reading my rambling... Yeah, I'm sure it will take time for people to change their opinion - but it really upsets me, as my dad is gay - I was raised when he was still living with my mum - but I see my half-sister who is raised by my dad and his boyfriend and they take really good care of her - well not that she thinks she is being raised - she is 15 and at the moment in the coll teenager phase, but even so...
Also I know about older people being narrow-minded when it comes to that but a lot of older people here in my country (Germany) were raised in women-only households after the war because most husbands didn't return home but a lot of them are still really hypocritical when the women or men raising a child together are in a relationship and not just living together and helping eath other like it was when they were raised.
