Mucho cuter than her & Zach. I don't get Lane & Zach at all - mismatch of the century. Not only can't I understand what Lane sees in Zach but I find it totally unbelievable that someone like Zack would go for Lane (his loss but he's too shallow and stupid to see the qualities in Lane). For me it's the equivalent to Lorelai dating Kirk. Eww.
It really is. Lane is the first character I really liked on GG she's so spunky and fun. And Dave really matches her there. Zach just isn't any of those things. He's just a boring, yet egocentric rocker that thinks he's a billion times more talented than he actually is. Really he's a boor. Plus he does NOT seem the type that would be patient with the moral choices she made last season.

And yes, I agree with your entire thoughts on Bright and Hannah. I just...Don't make it an issue if it's going to be something she completely disregards the first time her boyfriend really makes her feel pretty...you know?! I mean, she's like 18! She's not too old to WAIT. I dunno...it's not even about the concept...it's about the character...it's just so out of character for her. Oh well...what do you do? Bright's hot...who's to say that I wouldn't do the same thing?! ;)

Ya know I just realized that Lane on GG does the exact opposite of what Hannah did. She thought she was a rebel and going to live a free life and realized when push came to shove that she really is a very traditional girl who doesn't want to have sex before marriage. And she hasn't. Its not made Lane a less interesting character, its actually made her more so. And they've handled it very well.
I don't like what they did with Hannah. If she's going to have sex it shouldn't be till she's in a longterm committed relationship that's likely heading toward marriage already. Which isn't at all where she is with Bright, not right now anyway.
I'm not saying they're not in love, because they likely are. But they've not really been through anything that is a true test of them as a couple. No real hardship. And for something to last you eventually have to go through that.
Yeah, that's a great comparison. See, they did that right with Lane on GG...and completely wrong with Hannah...it just makes you lose respect for that character somehow...like she all of the sudden doesn't have a backbone to be the person that she was because she's going out with the "popular boy."
