I need to get TiVo

Dec 04, 2005 14:38

I probably should have already gotten it, but not having it keeps me from watching too much tv.  Like right now I'm not watching anything at the same time.  Which just got frelled up.  My two favorite things right now that are currently on My Name Is Earl & Everwood will be showing at the same time starting in January.  BOOO!  I don't want to have ( Read more... )

Oh man...it is very depressing that there really isn't a good fic archive.
What would I do without you?!

Oh no there is. There are a couple actually. But one of them I hadn't found when I know I read both of those. The other one I can't find what I'm looking for there. So I'm assuming it was @ Kansas I found them. I have a feeling they're both elsewhere I just can't find them. So I'm begging others.

I know its not an Ian story, though I've not finished all of them. Not sure what they've got their son named, but he's a toddler in the story. Jack's teamed with a younger astronaut, he had kinda kept the flame alive for something like what happened to John to have happened since there was no wreckage, John knows the other guy a bit. But he's not in the beginning, he comes in like 1/2 way through. Its Aeryn, Chiana & Jool mostly with Jack and the other guy.

The other one I shall give a try. Even if its not what I'm thinking of, I'm always looking for something new, to me at least, that's good.

When I got tivo I wanted to watch less tv. *shrugs* but it's great to be able to record two t hings at once. Oh yeah, get a tivo.

I know I need to, I've just been like, you'll be tempted to watch more stuff, you don't have time to do that! So I've been putting it off.

You can only record two things at once with the DirecTiVo (the DirecTV integrated unit). But the standalone TiVo has all the networking features that DirecTV won't enable on their units. I like the standalone units - and there's also the option of the DVD recording TiVos from Humax or Toshiba. If you do get a DirecTV unit you need to ask for the TiVo or you may get the cheap non-TiVo box they have now, the R15.

It is a great time to get one with the holiday promotional pricing. And I'd recommend the lifetime subscription.

Oh, and hi, I run tivolovers :-)

If I had to watch TV in real time, I'd watch ways less but with downloading - you can never miss it, watching goes according to your schedule and vice-versa and you don't get annoyed with commerical breaks. On the other hand, I'm always behind you guys...

Btw, you never know if the WB will keep it there - they haven't announced their mid-season schedule.

I've wondered if I would watch more if I dled, since you watch at your own pace. So I think I prefer watching how I do, since I limit myself by the schedule.

This is true, but I'm not hopeful on that front. I've read its doing rather well in that timeslot.

While the first story description is unfamiliar to me, the second story sounds like Thea's Undertones One of my favorites! *g*

THANK YOU! One down, one yet to find. I have no idea how I didn't figure that one out, I thought I had looked through everything @ The Leviathan, but Thea has a lot of S2 based stuff so maybe my eye slipped past.

They're just the best thing ever and someone that writes them well, that's a very close second.

I wondered if that was the fic you were looking for, and I'm glad you found it!

Yup that's it. Part of my problem I think is I read so much all at once when I was first watching and just after, and while I can remember plots and such finding everything isn't as easy as it was before when Kansas was still around.

As for the fic, its wonderful. But not the best way to start a day, which I did today. Quite distracting. ;)

I think fic #1 is probably Last Seen Standing by aeryncrichton. I'm not even sure how I came across it, but there you go.

Thank you ever so much. That's it. I thought I looked around her archive pretty well, but I guess not.
