Hi! I was wondering how you found me. I apologize for not being interesting.

I think it deserves to go on Cracked. :P

The feedback I got was that it was interesting, but the examples I had weren't really outrageous enough. There's nothing that makes you go "HOLY SHIT! A First Lady did that?". They're all above average, but they were looking for things like wrestling bears and breathing fire.

Damn, I didn't know Eleanor Roosevelt was such a badass.

Maybe if you widened the range to Five Incredible Female Badasses or something? Or has that already been done?

(If it hasn't, I'm doing it.)

I think for it to work, I'd have to find women who flipped over tanks with their bare hands. The problem is, unless you are a true history nerd, you don't realize exactly how atypical all of this is.

I've got another pitch I'm mulling, but I don't have enough examples yet.

"Sneaky ways women get authority"

-Pretend to be a dude (Hatshepsut specifically, refer to themselves as "King" not "Queen"
-"I'm just filling in" i.e, connect yourself to a popular male leader, like Elizabeth always called herself "my father's daughter". Hilary Clinton did this too.
-"Desperate times call for desperate measures" Joan of Arc, Boudicca, any other crazy lady leader

I need a couple more examples before I can start writing.

That's not a bad idea. If you can't think of more examples, you can always expand it to something like 'X sneaky ways people have got into power' or something. That would also get you past the '60% of cracked readers have never actually spoken to a woman' factor :)
