The frustrating lack of resources for teaching African history

I started my World History classes this semester with West Africa. I never learned anything about this in school myself, so everything I read about the great empires of Ghana and Mali is new to me. It is very frustrating finding upper elementary/ middle school appropriate activities to go along with this unit though

The West African portion of my Sub Saharan African history class was prolly my favorite part. If this unit isn't wrapping up this week, perhaps I could bring my text book on by? It might contain some stuff for you to data mine from.
