Is why is it okay for the rest of the world to sit around and criticize America and Americans, when Americans don't do the same thing? And when we do it, we called "Imperialist" and "culturally insensitive".

The "Perception of Americans" thread at Dragonmount is making me sad and angry.

Because everyone likes to take potshots at the biggest kid on the block. We have been throwing our weight around the world for a long time. But you are right, we are NEVER allowed to say anything back. If we talk about taking care of our own problems, then we are "isolationist" and told we have a "responsibility" to the rest of the world. Why? I think you should bring up your point, as tactfully as you can, on the thread.

Or, if you want to say, screw you hippies! America 0wnz0rs j00!!11 that would be ok, too.

I get what you mean, and it can be excessive... but if you come from outside of the US you see a lot more complaining by the US about other countries/smack talk than you do when you're from the US. I know that sentence didn't make a lot of sense. I'm not heading over to the post because both sides get me pissed off sometimes :)

I did the same thing jafael did... except I didn't feel sad and angry... I just really didn't care. Hahahha.

Well, yeah I don't know. To be honest, I love vacationing in America and that's about all the impression I've got of it.

I'm shallow. I know.

At least you've been here. I think some of those cheese eating surrender monkeys only know Americans from TV shows. I'm sure its as accurate and nuanced as how we depict muslims on our TV shows.
