So, last night I went out to a game night at one of my coworkers' homes. We had a rousing rendition of Apples to Apples (I lost awfully. However, the one card I did win was "Eccentric", which I think is typecasting in the extreme. True, but still quite obvious.), and then we played a card game/RPG called Are You A Werewolf?. Great fun that! ( Read more... )

I played "Are You a Werewolf" in the comic book store, but there were only, like, 4 of us, so it didn't really go on that long. Seems like a fun game, though.

Apples to apples is a hilarious game and great fun for our game group. Here are some more games you might enjoy:

Guillotine: Collect the heads of fallen nobles

Nanofictionary: Tell a story to win that round

The Big Idea: Create an item to sell and make a sales pitch to get the other players to bid on your item

And since you are sci-fi fans, don't forget

Space Munchkins: Puns in space in a card game.

It is. And its useful in writing classes with kids too.

You have cards that represent plot, people, settings, and endings. You have a hand of them each round. You pick the elements from your hand and when that part is done, everyone goes around the table and tells their stories about their cards, improvising.

Here is a good site to see more about this game, and any other game that interests you.
