Revelations

If you think of football as a turn-based strategy game, it gets far more interesting.

Yay Giants! Better yet the Colts lost hahahahaha.

And in spite of that officiating, too! You have to love it.

Why, I'd love it even if it didn't mean that I won't have to watch another New England/Indianapolis game next week. As it is, I love it even more.

We only caught the ending-- hubby is pretty much a one-team guy, but he's trying to game the playoffs. We were like, "wait, the Colts are losing? Mwahahahaha. Stop sucking Tony Dungy's cock, you commentators IT'S OVER."

Yes!

It was a remarkable game to watch, and I don't say that about very many games where I can't watch Tom Brady and his gorgeous concentration and scary smile of utter delight. But the officiating really was outrageous: even I could see how much of a thumb on the scale Indy was getting, and even biased gamecalling shouldn't be obvious enough for somebody at my level to see it easily.

My sister and brother-in-law, who do know football well enough to be able to tell (and who now live in Lafayette, where it's all Indy all the time), tell me that the bias in officiating is routine and well-known -- the Colts can rely on it when they play at home, and sometimes on the road too. So it's particularly sweet when not only is it clear for all to see, but it still doesn't work.

Indeed! The deference shown to that team is just absurd.

I like the Subway commercial where the offical basically says, "yeah, that call was lame. I'll make it up by making a lame call for the other side later in the game."

Heh. As a Packers fan, this was a really good weekend for me!

Did your guys win? I don't really follow football, I just watch it with hubby.

Absolutely trashed the Seattle Seahawks in the snow. So now, the Giants play the Packers next Sunday... at Green Bay.

*wonders if more snow is in the forecast*

We'll probably end up watching that one too. I dunno who hubby will cheer for, as he was hoping for Dallas to win today's game. OH WELL.

The news said we were one game away from the superbowl.

... We are so not going to the superbowl.

IT COULD HAPPEN. I'm not sure how but it could.

I still fail to understand your football, but it's amusing the number of posts either cheering or grumpy about it in my flist.

It's a turn-based strategy game! With violence!

Seriously, once I had this revelation it became 90% more watchable.

...I approve of this revelation. Though I continue to maintain the sport needs a "sniper" position which is exactly what it sounds like.

THE XFL MIGHT'VE MADE IT IF THEY'D HAD YOUR WISDOM.

SO SAD though I suppose it would cause a lot of turnover in the player pool.
