um, i'm having second thoughts on Mary-Sue characters. So long as a character has a realistic and in-depth personality, it wouldn't matter whether it's MS or not.

Aye, I totally agree with that. :-D I mean... quite a lot of original characters in stories we like to read would score pretty high on the Mary Sue scale, yet we certainly don't think of them that way. Conversely, there are other characters who do scream Mary Sue (*cough cough* Hermione Granger *cough cough*) but nevertheless have a huge following.

Still... it is amusing to poke fun at them. ;-)
