Intimidating characters

._. I think Kuroro's a bit of an intimidating character, especially since he's such a mystery. Everyone sees him as this cool and suave gang leader, and I'm always conscious of that fact whenever writing dialogue for him. Granted, it's also because we don't know his exact personality that I have room to shape his character - within reason, of course, but still. It isn't that easy staying in-character for someone whose personality isn't set in stone.

Far be it for me to tell you how to write your stories, but maybe you should try to relax first? You're much too scared of being flamed or criticized that you're restraining your creativity. Reader feedback is important, yes, but that only comes after you'd actually written something. Write your ideas down, go with whatever feels fun for you, and if the end product sucks, then edit and do it all over again. Rinse and repeat; you can only improve with so much practice.
