Though I have so many ships (Damon/Elena, Stefan/Elena, Bonnie/Damon, Caroline/Damon), I do agree that the Stefan/Elena is sorta boring. Cute, isn't really that interesting. I loved Stefan/Elena in the book because of Elena's chase XD They didn't straight on hooked up. It developed. But I do see those elements starting to appear. This television version doesn't put up with shit. And I love it.

I am happy that they put a little bit more personality to Stefan. Shows that he is willing to get his hands a bit dirty sometimes.

I'm more interesting how they developed the brother's past though. The flashback episodes are coming soon <3

I know! I'm so excited for the flashback episodes! In the books I liked S/E very much, but I didn't love them (I'm very hardcore D/E.) I think with Stefan/Elena the main reason is that, in my opinion, Nina and Paul do not have chemistry. And that is not to say they are not good actors, just that it isn't happening. Nina has spectacular chemistry with Ian. It feels organic, and it is like they just click. And maybe it's just because Ian Somerhalder could easily be shippable with a even brick wall, but I have to admit, that him and Caroline have an easy chemistry. And I love Candice Accolla. So I am totally with you on the D/C vibe. Stefan suprised me in this episode, though I think he needs to be willing to get his hands a little bit dirtier. The writers have a great actor in Paul, the writing and backstory just isn't there for Stefan like it is for Ian, which I think is one reason I am so adamantly team Damon. Hopefully the writers will take a better direction with Stefan's character in the upcoming episodes.

Actually I meant to say Caroline/Elena. XD Though I think Caroline/Damon interactions are really interesting.

I agree wholeheartedly with your review and seriously do wish for some more Damon/Elena juice. I really do hope that she starts to see a bit more inside Damon's head and see him more as a "tortured soul" than the "evil son of a bitch" that Stefan insists he is. As well as stop with the Stefan *makes grabby hands* relationship that kinda came *SMACKBANG* into our faces with not much momentum. In the book, I really did enjoy the chase and the "win stefan" plans, because it was believable when she eventually got her man. And well, the book gives them a sense of connection, chemistry if you will, while the tv show just further emphasises paul and nina's lack of.

I saw the promo videos and was confused as to why they had left out the "being in the same room as the people that killed katherine" thing and how only cutting that out would make us more confused about the diamond/crystal.

For the next ep, I'm almost scared for Stefan. No one locks Damon in a cage and gets away with it-- AGREED. I do enjoy the show, and each week I watch it, ( ... )

That is exactly what happened with the Stefan/Elena relationship- it did go *SMACKBANG* in your face. The books at least had some build up, the show not so much. The main reson I tuned in this week was because of that scene in the promo. I wanted to see Damon dished out revenge his way. I am very excited for more Damon and Elena scenes, Nina and Ian are great and stand on their own, but together they can just really draw you in.
"And well, the book gives them a sense of connection, chemistry if you will, while the tv show just further emphasises paul and nina's lack of." WORD. I couldn't have said it better myself.

TY! Some would say we didn't see any of Damon's humanity in this episode, but when he revisited the story of Katherine's death with Elena his walls seemed to crumble a bit. And that's why I'm a Damon/Elena shipper. His humanity usually only shows when he's with her, and he acts like someone who actually gives a shit. Seriously, Ian just makes this show. He can go from being brutal, violent, and manipulative, to being someone who has lost everyone he has ever loved, letting his anger, resentment and disgust darken him. It's a treat to watch. And I love Candice Accolla. She portrays Caroline with a queen-bee could care less exterior, but really she is just some scared and insecure little girl yearning for love. And, although I am a hardcore D/E shipper, I love her and Ian's scenes together. The storyline between D/C is juicy and they have chemistry.

I like this review, bb. XD

Ahhh, Damon. I do love him so. He just steals every scene he's in.

I agree, Stefan x Elena seems a little too sweet and...whatever for me. *sighs*

A shame really, as this relationship is meant to be the driving force of the series or whatever. V.V;

*hugs* Thanks for the review, again. It was nice to see that I'm not alone in some of my thoughts on it (or what I've seen of it so far, so thanks for the spoilers!). XXX

Thank you!
Trust me, you are not alone in your thoughts. There are so many people who agree about S/E just becoming a bore. Ian does steal every scene he is in. It is a mixture of fantastic acting, writing, and charisma. Put all that together and you've got yourself one powerful leading man.

Damon definitely has the best lines, I wish Stefan had some more funny in him, he is very plain. And it seems fake when you rush into a relationship after knowing each other for, like, what was it? 3 days?

I really think that if Elena hadn't found Caroline's bite marks, she would've seen Damon as someone with a lot of bad luck in the past.

When Damon commented "Way to crack the funny Stefan!" I laughed so hard because it was just so true, it's sad actually. The writers have such a good actor in Paul, but the character just falls flat. Hell, I wouldn't even know if I would be ready to ask a guy out within 3 days of knowing him, let alone start a relationship. I'm looking forward to the direction the writers are taking with Damon/Elena, I'm keeping positive, I just hope they don't fuck it up. Oh, and TEAM JEREMY FTMFW!!!
