Actually I have no idea if this building has a roof that is even flat; it's not like I've seen it. And I've never tried to grow anything before either, but it's really oddly fascinating. I need to read more about this, yes.

Our building does indeed have a flat roof. But I'm afraid you do not have access to any floors higher than mine without the express permission of those that dwell on them. And seeing as you have yet to make any impression upon them at all, I can assure you that their answers will be 'no.'

However, I would like to introduce you to Ghede soon, once you have a better hold on a few of the concepts we've been working on.

Yeah, that'll be fun. First impressions don't always go so well for me; there's usually some degree of awkward humor and rambling involved. Let me guess..this guy pretty much has to like me though, or that's...bad, right?

If you are that desperate to tarnish our floor with a mess of living growth, perhaps I can give you access to one of the rooms that possess windows.

You certainly don't need to impress my mentor; if he disapproves of you, he'll simply avoid your presence whenever possible. But I would request, if not for your own dignity, do attempt to behave for my own personal comfort. Even if you can avoid Ghede, I certainly cannot, and hearing tales of my inappropriate, childish apprentice is not something I would like to be bombarded with until my death.

That said, unless you go out of your way to display excessive immaturity, I can't see him disapproving of your progress. I am certainly pleased with your effort thus far.

There are windows in some of the rooms, huh? Plants need fresh air too, these windows don't have bars on them, do they? That would make it really hard to make sure my plants don't keel over from stale air.

Oh yeah, that makes me feel better about this idea.

I don't go out of my way to do that, it's just a natural talent.
